OUR STORY
Central Iowa Sound got its start as Prairie Ghost Karaoke in late 1999 / early 2000. Over more than a quarter century, we've hosted karaoke nights at J&M's Keg, The Stop Off, Ernie's in Czech Village, The Deadwood and The Jobsite in Iowa City, The Big Ten Lounge in Coralville, J&A Tap in North Liberty, Black Squirrel Tap in Swisher, and many more rooms across the Cedar Rapids–Iowa City Corridor. We still run what's arguably the area's largest and best karaoke show, every week at J&A Tap.
Brian holds a Bachelor of Music from Oklahoma Baptist University (1987), one of the era's most highly regarded music programs. In 1982, he sang with a state department delegation choir at a festival in Mexico City under Gene Brooks, longtime Executive Director of the American Choral Directors Association.
He's produced sound for live bands and solo artists for years, and built Central Iowa Sound around professional-grade equipment from day one. Brian has made two guest appearances on the Schulte & Swann morning show on Z102.9 and was featured on a local morning TV talk show — and he's known as a leader in the area karaoke scene, supporting other entertainment entrepreneurs along the way.
